Looked around here and couldn't find anything about this event. For those who don't know Mark Bando, author/101st historian and friends from the forum will be holding a 1st annual convention the weekend of Sept. 2nd & 3rd. Many 101st vets and historians will be present. There will be a $25 entry fee. This will go toward defraying the costs of renting the conference rooms at the hotel. For those of you within a couple of hundred miles of Detroit, nothing going on Labor Day weekend and Jonseing for everything airborne might want to go to the following website, http://www.101airborneww2.com/

I would if I could.... I hate it when these things get scheduled for holiday weekends. Like there isn't enough going on elsewhere to compete with. As one who is forever working every holiday it makes me insanely jealous of the folks that get to attend these events. Anyway... tongue.gif

Have fun! I'm guessing this will be quite the event...

I hear you. I just got back on their site because I knew it was coming but wasn't sure when. Will give everyone a oversight of this weekend, assuming my boss works with me. I can't wait.

Have fun over there, Geoff. It's too bad it won't be a weekend earlier - I'll be in D-Town this week (thursday to be exact) to see the tigers take on the sox and I could take an extra day off work to stay there for the weekend. But Labor Day weekend is far too busy for me, at least this year with classes starting Monday, to make the 3-hour trip from the west side of the state. Post a report when you get back!
