I got this at work. I thought it was amazing. I think you will enjoy it too. To bad others weren't and aren't treated with such honor and respect.

It is indeed very moving. There is something uniquely powerful in the intersection of the traditions of the Lakota warrior and the traditions of the US Marine. Good on the Marines for respecting both traditions.
And my respects to the fallen Lakota Marine.
Thank you.

What a very beautiful way to remember this young man. My heart goes out to his family.

Thanks for the post. The very first photo is so very poignant to my eye. The quilt designs are purely Native American, but the execution is all red, white and blue. Touches my heart.
A remarkable statistic that few realize: "Native Americans have the highest participation in the Armed Forces of any ethnic group". BK

fantastic post!! Its the unsung heroes who you dont normally get to read about. The way the funeral was held is very moving indeed. The closness in which these cultures strive for family wise is definately something we should all take a good hard look at.

Those are men I admire. Those who fight for their country, fight for their heritage, their beliefs, their families. As Shifty Powers said... we aren't the heroes. The heros are the guys who are still over there. The guy swho didn't come home. He is 100% right. Those guys are the best, therefore I feel they deserve nothing less than the best!

You're welcome.
The reason is, you're one of the very people you were speaking about.
