Before coming to work, I had a crummy morning trying to cut through bank bureacracy in order to settle a part of my father's estate to no avail. While looking for basketball scores for a patron, I had to search in the December 1942 Charlotte Observer. I have to admit I wondered where was Easy Company at this time. Lo and behold, I run across a wonderful AP shot similar to the first one that appears here http://www.506infantry.org/his2ndbnwwiiphoto09.html only the Observer shot was wider. They were marching to Atlanta from Toccoa. Well, that just tickled me to death as well as the patron sitting next to me. Just thought I'd share my little coinky dinky of the day. wink.gif

Nice discovery. I've not seen those photos/captions before, and reminds me to go cruising on the site maintained by the very keen guys over there at the Currahee.org site. They do a great job and that site is very very deep. I highly recommend delving into their archives. One can spend hours reading the documents and viewing the photos there.

Thanks, Quaker. Bk

I've seen these pictures there before but forgot about them cause I'm usually in the 3rd Battalion section. Thanks for reminding me.
