Dick Winters is donating his entire home office and everything in it to the Hershey-Derry Township Historical Society in Hershey. It will include his desk, chair, the big leather chair Steve Ambrose, Damian Lewis (and I) sat in when we visited Dick and spoke with him, and all of the stuff hanging on his walls, including maps, flags, photos, the works.
The display opens Nov. 11 following an invitation-only dedication on Oct. 25. The historical Society is on Northeast Drive in Hershey.

That's great! I hope to see it someday!
Any particular reason why though? Just curious

Dick is 90 years old, heading for 91. His health is not good. He looks frail. He is trying to make a proper disposition for his things and keep the BoB legacy alive.

The Hershey-Derry Township Historical Society needs help in establishing
the Major Richard D. Winters Exhibit as a permanent one. They are in need
of more financing so the exhibit will remain on permanent display. They
have achieved the majority of the funding but are still short of the total
needed for this to remain in perpetuity. If any of you can help, donations
will be gratefully accepted to extinguish the debt incurred in presenting
this tribute to the Major.
The Museum's address is
Hershey-Derry-Township Historical Society
40 Northeast Drive
Hershey PA 17033

Very cool ! As I am in Chicago now these days, I should try to get out to Hershey sometime in the near future to view this exhibit. I've always been intrigued by things of this nature. When I was in Phoenix, I saw a travelling Smithsonian exhibit that had the original Kermit the Frog in it, and I got all verklempt just looking at it. Kermit was my only friend when I was a kid.
