Anyone have any info on him?

Was he anything like the actor on BoB?
What happened to him after the war?
Skip_Muck_fan
I heard he was really funny just like the actor. Maybe someone can help you more with him because I think he's still alive, but not sure. I really don't keep up on Luz. I'm more interested in Bill Guarnere, Skip Muck, Burr Smith and Donald Hoobler.

I actually like them all, but Luz, Perconte, Guarnere, Winters and Nixon are my main favourites.

Anyone else have any info?
Luz
In Websters book it said he was amazing with a bazooka, and it seemed like he was similar to the actor, definately did impressions and stuff.

In Bofb it said he became a handy-man in Providence, Rhode Island, and 1600 poeple attending his funeral in 1998. Great guy smile.gif

Thanx man. Yeh he does sound like a great guy. Must have forgotten that bit at the end of BoB.

Is there any real pics of him at all?

George Luz seems like he was an awesome man and soldier. But unfortunately I think that George Luz died in 1994. It's said that there were just thousands of people at his funeral because of wonderful and humerous man he was!

I pick Bull Randelman as one of my faves cause of his witty attitude smile.gif

I think he died in 1996/1998 but I'm not sure,I'll have to watch BoB again to find out but apparently thousands of people attended his funeral which is a great tribute to his character.

I was told their were some knowledgeable Luz peoples on WBG and was hoping maybe someone could answer a few of my questions. Afer finally finishing up the book and starting on Parachute Infantry, I felt like maybe they didn't do Luz's character justice in the movie. Webster seemed to have quite alot to say about him. They refer to his skill with a bazooka in the book..yet the only hint we get of that is Vest telling him that Lipton wanted him to put a few rounds in a house. Then again after reading the book I was also struck as to why they didn't put Bob Marsh in the movie, as he was mentioned through the entire book. But anyways..

I read someplace that Luz recieved the Purple Heart. There's no mention anywhere in the book of him really being wounded, save for a comment about him showing up at the 110th medical..this was in a letter someone wrote to Major Winters. Does anyone know what happened to him?

Also, does anyone know what his correct rank was? Wikipedia, which I'm assuming derived most of its information from the movie, has him listed as a Technician Fourth Class..equal to a Sergeant. But in the book they refer to him as one of the original Taccoa men who became an NCO..and then a few pages later they refer to him as Corporal Luz.

Any additional information anyone has would really help me out alot. Thank you smile.gif
