We have found a picture from some men of Easy company on the internet. We are not sure if we put the right names underneath the picture. Can some one clarify them for us. Here is the picture with the names from left to right.

IPB Image

Johnny Martin, William Dukeman, Albert Blithe, Don Hoobler, Bill Wingett, Burton Christenson.

Regards,

Frank
Jiggersfromsphilly
Between Blithe and Wingett is Wild Bill Guarnere for one!
Frank Gubbels
Is that really Bill Guarnere? I don't remember his name anymore but someone told me that it was Don Hoobler.

Jiggersfromsphilly
mark Bando had this picture up on his site for some time . it is now gone. Its Wild Bill in there.
Frank Gubbels
Thank you Tony. I will edit it on our website.

Im not an expert, but i think it is Hoob!Maybe Gene can help us wink.gif

Maybe this could help! http://www.506pireasyco.com/Donald%20Hoobler.htm
I think it is Hoobler on this pic and not Wild Bill!

Frank Gubbels
Now I am really confused.
Jiggersfromsphilly
Frank, I too think its Hoobler. I was mistaken originally as there is another similar shot with Bill in the middle. I stand corrected. A historians job is to get the facts right and I defer to the others on this one.
homefront41
Definitely Hoobler. And there is another similar photo around. If I can find it in my archives, I'll post it later tonight. BK

It is Don Hoobler. But what do I know?

KidNapEasyWhite
Frank Gubbels
Okay it is Hoobler for sure then. But what about Dukeman? I have never seen a picture of him.

Frank Gubbels
Thank you Joke. It must be William Dukeman. But, They say that it is Walter Martin to the far left. I have never heard afrom or about him. I was under the impression that it was Johnny Martin.

Frank

EDIT: Nice website. Are you hosting this site?
Joke
No, I found it through a link on another website and bookmarked it.

I never heard of Walter Martin either, maybe the wrong name by mistake?

Nice movie, even if it's a commercial, on the startpage (http://www.506pireasyco.com)

Walter E Martin was a member of EASY company also and he can be found on the Compnay roster. He is listed just below John W. Martin. Its found on the roster of East Co in the special edition of WW2 magazine. It was compiled by Jake Powers.

Anyone know w ho is in this photo? We discussed it elsewhere and I dont think we ever got an answer that was agreed upon...anyone have any ideas? Someone else saw it on another website that says is Leibgott??

"Eileen I saw this photo some time agao and I thought someone said your Uncle was in this photo.Or there is another photo that is very similar What do you think?

This is from Mark Bandos site he has the credit for this photo and the caption is this

Eindhoven on 18 September, 1944, and shows Manry kneeling in the foreground. This appears courtesy of our Dutch Airborne Friends.
Tom Manry was fatally wounded in the woods below Foy, Belgium, shortly after arriving in the Bastogne area. He died of wounds, on 20 December, 1944. Tom's home state was Texas.

And so we remember here and honor, another fallen hero of the great Eagle Division.

"That exact same picture is on the 506th site and the caption reads:

Front: Joseph D. Liebgott; Back: Eugene G. Roe (Medic) and Burton P. Christenson, all from 1st Platoon, E Company, 2nd BN, 506th PIR
[Identified by Clancy Lyall (E Co, 2nd BN, 506th PIR, 1944-1945; 1st ABG, 1956-1958)]

The other post about that photo is an arbitrary digression in the Skip Muck thread in Posts You've Got To Read.

If you look at the 7th box on the left on the home page under History. You will have to do some digging but it is there and under History and pictures

Without a doubt Burt Christianson is in the photo as is Joe Leibgott. I am 90% convinced that it is Eugene Roe.

Currahee!
